This one is a bronze that was done by Albino Manca and is titled "Diving Eagle".  I decided that it was best presented as a black&amp;white image.


A lesson to be learned here --  watch your composition! Notice how the tip of the eagles beak almost gets lost in the background bushes/trees. So I headed to Huntington Beach State Park. Crossing the causeway it was painfully evident that the tide was at dead low. On Day 7 I told you we would be coming back to this spot in Brookgreen Gardens and that is where we are today. Just before I arrived the sun broke through the clouds and lit up Anna Huntingtons "Youth Taming the Wild".  I hope you enjoy it.

I shot this at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC. I am standing on an "island" where Anna Huntingtons sculpture "Taming the Wild" is displayed. This is one of my favorite spots at Brookgreen and I can promise that you will see more of this particular spot throughout the project.

Today it is 27 degrees and I'm shooting ICE only 5 feet away from yesterdays rose shot. This is not the best image, but we don't get much ice down here so I had to shoot it while we had some.

Some of my neighbors and I went to Huntington Beach SP and patiently awaited a 7:48 pm moonrise. The moon did it's thing ontime but there were some low clouds that made immediate shooting unproductive. I have Jim Zuckermans'  DVD "Dazzling Photoshop". One of the files is entitled "Mountain Lion". The primary image is of a Mountain Lion walking amongst some rocks, with a horribly washed out sky in the background. Jim transformed the "not-so-good" image into a silhouette that I immediatley thought would look good with a pelican image I had. While there we toured  a "garden" where I spotted some Bird of Paradise in bloom. In my mind I could see these blooms making a nice "orb" or "gazing ball". Take a look and see what you think.

Oct 6th is historically the "peak" of fall color where I was. Unfortunately, some storm activity had caused the "peak" to happen a few days earlier. Even while I was there it was cloudy and rainy. Was able to salvage a couple of shots and though you might like to see.

It is a Spectacled Owl, mostly found in southern Mexico, Central America, Northern two-thirds of South America.



Spectacled Owls are dark brown with a whitish to yellow-ochre belly, a white patch on the front of the neck and a dark brown belt across the breast. White "spectacles" around their yellow eyes give them their name.

PDF Creator allows you to use a "virtual printer" to "print" things to PDFs rather than actual printed documents. It is a must-have utility and I recommend that everybody use it. The software will work on any program that has the ability to print (document editor, browser, etc.)
